Yoga and Mindfulness are related, in that one is practicing becoming aware of what the body receives and welcomes with kindness and curiosity. Practicing yoga mindfully moves away from the goal-oriented practice one may have as an athlete, or a gym member. One moves towards practicing ahimsa means “without violence” . Ahimsa is the first yama, or moral precept, of yoga as outlined by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras.
